MetBioNet Leadership Development Programme

We are delighted to be advertising a leadership development programme for scientists working in a MetBioNet stakeholder laboratory.  This is an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership skills whilst expanding your network and undertaking a service improvement project. We have five places available.

The leadership course will be a modular, three-part residential programme covering strategic thinking, relationship building, execution and influencing. In parallel with the leadership programme, each delegate will undertake an improvement project, the output of which must benefit the UK Metabolic Biochemistry Network. By delivering the project in parallel with the leadership course, you will have the ideal opportunity to put the tools and techniques you have learned into practice. On completion of the course, delegates will be invited to showcase their projects to the Network at a presentation day.

The recruitment process is competitive. If you are interested in applying for this opportunity, please submit a short statement (no more than 500 words) outlining how you will benefit from the course, and how the UK MetBioNet would benefit from supporting you. Please submit applications via email by 5pm on 15th November 2024 to [email protected] and [email protected]

Additional information on the POD leadership course is attached. Whilst funding for the leadership development programme will be provided through the ‘Metabolic Minds’ initiative, accommodation and travel expenses must be secured locally by each candidate. Accommodation will be block-booked via the programme to minimise cost.

Applications are open to Biomedical Scientists (band 6 and 7) and Clinical Scientists (band 7 and 8a/b) permanently employed in a MetBioNet stakeholder laboratory. Applications should be accompanied by a short statement of support from your Laboratory Director.

Best wishes

Rachel
